we use 8.1.7 solely and extensively. We are using the Micrsoft ODBC drivers too. We get good results and stability. We use the native drivers only if we need to mess with CLOBS. A Ray Thompson on this list or the CFDJLIST said he has done abit of testing and found the M$ drivers good. YMMV
