For what it's worth the only companies that I know spend more time/money on usability (and that's pretty much just because they HAVE more money) are MS and Apple. Most companies simply don't HAVE a usability team. That being said even the best usability people sometimes either get vetoed, make mistakes or otherwise foul up. However Macromedia is also one of the very few companies that publicizes it's usability processes (MS does to an extent, but not nearly so much). Pointing out a mistake is fine and desirable. But attacking a team (or in this case teams) for making a mistake (especailly a mistake that's already been acknowledged and apologized for) a is just low-class.
