It would also include StatusEnglish, StatusSpanish,StatusFrench, where the status is bad if the phrase wasn't checked, and good if it was checked, so that volunteers can be presented with phrases that weren't checked before! I also have a table for each page - with status in each language. So some volunteers will be checking pages to make sure it all comes together correctly and actually works, while others will be translating phrase by phase. (They will be presented with the bablefish translation, and can either edit it or approve it.)
As to forums, we gave up on forums a long time ago and using mailing lists now. After the website is translated, I am going to work on getting the email translated also - using an on the fly conversion... but will have volunteers watching and pointing out any terrible errors. Email is less demanding and we can get away with imperfect translation as long as the meaning isn't changed too much! One other problem I have is that most of my volunteers have brain tumors and most have some mental deficits.. so I have to make this as simple as possible. As to dumping the text out into a resource file, there is way too many current pages to do that. It would take months. I will let you guys know how it works out.
