This may not be an issue now, but a long time ago (CF3) I had problems with scheduled jobs not finding Application.cfm at all (regardless of spelling) and wound up coding various variables into the template for the scheduled task instead of using application.cfm Does the template work when run in the browser rather than as a scheduled job? Have you checked to make sure that there are no zero length emails or emails in general stuck in the mail spool folder? I did see something else, where someone claimed that using an external email server was causing linux to give its highly enlightening signal 11 error.
