damn dude relax.

i wasnt pointing fingers, but all those offended, im sorry. i was simply
stating that, just like bryan said, SH*T happens, and there has to be a fix,
and sometimes its just very elusive.

i wasnt on the list all freakin weekend long, i had a golf tournament all
weekend (i won!!!) and just caught the tail end. i dont have any magic
ju-ju, nor am i even close to the level of a dave watts. so get over it. im
sorry if you were pissed...it wasnt a jab at you.

i wonder, really, if mm had that dire of a an install issue...then wouldnt
there be mad amounts of bad publicity floating around the universe?

anyway, im done with this, i just wanted to drop my 2 cents in on a good pro
mm story...

anyway.

cheers

That's great Tony. Where were you when we were all stumped? We needed your
advice back then. I still have all the 110 messages on that issue. Not
one
from you. I'm sure we could have used your expertise when Dave Watts was
ferreting around in my system trying to locate the issue. And Chris Kief. I
wish you had been willing to help me when Dave and Chris were so dumb they
couldn't work it out.

You are one of the lucky majority. You installed and it worked ok.

But I do resent your suggestion that I was incompetent or careless by
installing CFMX on a brand new, barebones WinXPPro system with hardly
anything installed on it and was SOOO idiotic that I couldn't click
"install" correctly.

How simple it is to be a Monday-morning coach when you don't have the
problem yourself. Everyone send Tony a lollipop because he is so expert
that he has never had any problem he can't solve without help.

You installed it 10 times with no problems. Well clever boy. So what are
you saying? I imagined it? That I am wrong - there was no problem at all?
That I was so stupid I got it wrong putting a CD in my drive and clicking
"Install CF"? Since you are here bragging ... why don't you just tell us
all where I was wrong then.

I belong to this list because it's a valuable source of excellent
information. I asked for help because I was having a problem that was
driving me CRAZY. And ever since I've had one person after another trying
to show how stupid I must be to be unable to install ColdFusion. Or that I
must be a real moron for the way I have my business set up, (and you've
usually got it all wrong).

If someone asks for help here, then give them help if you think you know
what the problem is. But knock off the smartass criticism. It reflects
pretty poorly on you and shows how small you really are.

i have installed cfmx, 10 times at least on a winxp
pro dell laptop with iis5 and some xp updates, some of the
xp patches, cfmxu3 and guess what????

*********EVERYTHING INSTALLED ABSOLUTELY PERFECTLY WITH NO
PROBLEMS**********

im a firm believer in the term PEBKAC

there are just certain things and certain times when things just dont go
right, they are always logical, this is a computer, 1's and 0's and for the
life of me i will never imagine what happens inside those chips in my
servers...but you know what, i figure it out and fix it...there is usually
something at the end that i didnt do right, that made the problem happen.

no offense to anyone, because we all make mistakes...

but thats just mu

by the way damon. cf. rock on.
y'all got a good thing going there...cheers

we here @ navtrak leave eat sleep and dream in a {^(cf|flash)mx;} kinda way
