Glad to hear things are runnin now... Stace -----Original Message----- From: Stacy Young Sent: Monday, June 02, 2003 10:25 PM To: CF-Talk Subject: RE: Quick note from the CF Team.... Mike, I ran into a somewhat similar situation with CF5 and running in distribution mode a couple years back. Unfortunately there are some unlucky folks in unique situations that get the short end of the stick...Anyhow I reluctantly opened a support ticket with MM folks...and to my surprise had a very helpful engineer work on the problem over a couple hours that same day and discovered a bug in the cf module. (causing cfcontent to go wacko) Didn't have to pay didley, and didn't throw my box out the window. >From what I saw from Damon they're already helping you out on this now...but if not, try the support route... -Stace -----Original Message----- From: Mike Kear [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Monday, June 02, 2003 7:07 PM To: CF-Talk Subject: RE: Quick note from the CF Team.... That's great Tony. Where were you when we were all stumped? We needed your advice back then. I still have all the 110 messages on that issue. Not one from you. I'm sure we could have used your expertise when Dave Watts was ferreting around in my system trying to locate the issue. And Chris Kief. I wish you had been willing to help me when Dave and Chris were so dumb they couldn't work it out. You are one of the lucky majority. You installed and it worked ok. But I do resent your suggestion that I was incompetent or careless by installing CFMX on a brand new, barebones WinXPPro system with hardly anything installed on it and was SOOO idiotic that I couldn't click "install" correctly. How simple it is to be a Monday-morning coach when you don't have the problem yourself. Everyone send Tony a lollipop because he is so expert that he has never had any problem he can't solve without help. You installed it 10 times with no problems. Well clever boy. So what are you saying? I imagined it? That I am wrong - there was no problem at all? That I was so stupid I got it wrong putting a CD in my drive and clicking "Install CF"? Since you are here bragging ... why don't you just tell us all where I was wrong then. I belong to this list because it's a valuable source of excellent information. I asked for help because I was having a problem that was driving me CRAZY. And ever since I've had one person after another trying to show how stupid I must be to be unable to install ColdFusion. Or that I must be a real moron for the way I have my business set up, (and you've usually got it all wrong). If someone asks for help here, then give them help if you think you know what the problem is. But knock off the smartass criticism. It reflects pretty poorly on you and shows how small you really are.
