Hello,

I am looking for some assistance with patching up a CFMX Server on a Windows
2000 platform, that has had CFMX Updater 3 run against it.

I am trying to patch the server to eliminate the error message that has been
occuring when CFGRIDUPDATE is run (IE 6.0 & JRE version 1.4.1_01). The
message says "cfgridupdate could not find the grid named
WHAT_EVER_THE_GRID_NAME_IS."

I understand that this is a known issue resulting in the way that Sun Java
Applets now handles variable names, and has impacted the use of CFGRID and
CFGRIDUPDATE.

Here are the specific Macromedia Tech Notes to solve this issue:
ColdFusion 5: Hot fix for applets when using Java Plug-in versions greater
than 1.3.1_01a

ColdFusion 5: Hot fix for cfform controls

ColdFusion 5: Netscape browser continues to prompt user to download Java
plug-in

<http://www.macromedia.com/support/coldfusion/ts/documents/tn17952.htm>

My problem is that the instructions for these fixes are all geared towards
CF 5.0 and not CFMX, as some naming conventions have changed in the
directory structure.

Both of the NetScape and IE fix instructions (from the links above) say to
replace the "CFJava2.jar" file in the "\web_root\cfide\classes" directory,
but this file does not exist in the CFMX version but following the same path
"\web_root\cfide\classes\cfapplets.jar" leads me to "cfapplets.jar".

Should I rename the downloaded CFJava2.jar file to cfapplets.jar?
Can these two files co-exist in the classes directory without causing issues
on the CFMX Server?

Any help would be great!

Thanks,
