Do the remotes services you are trying to use have Flash Remoting? Or are the traditional XML based web services?

I have an app that uses Flash Remoting to consume local CFCs and as a proxy to consume remote web services. However, on my host, the first part works, but the second part (consuming remot web services) does not. Are there any configurational changes that I am overlooking? Any suggestions? I was going to try consuming my CFC as a web service through the Flash remoting proxy, but I'm not sure what that should indicate to me. Any insights? Or a different list that may be able to help.
