Does anyone know if CF has any built-in modules for user or role-based
access to a website. I'm looking for some kind of login system where I can
restrict access to certain areas based on either the user or a group they

We implemented a group-level security on a recent application. This is how we
did it - in the Users table we have a DepartmentID column. On the verify.cfm page, if
the user login is successful, we set a bunch of session variables including <cfset
Session.DepartmentID = Authenticate.DepartmentID>. Then, we use <cfif DepartmentID EQ
"{Department or Department List}"> tags to restrict what is seen or accessed based on
department. If that does not make sense, email me off list and I will explain
