There may be a malformed mail message in the spool directory. This happens every now and then (dunno why) and tends to cause the CF App Server to act up. Try moving the contents of the spool directory to a temporary directory. Then, incrementally move mail messages back to the spool directory. This should help you figure out which message(s) are causing the problem (assuming this is, indeed, the problem).
