Hi all,

I have the following setup:

*. Hardware:

Sun Ultra Enterprise 450
CPU: 4x 400Mhz
Cache: 4MB
Memory: 2 GB
Power Supplies: 2x redundant
PCI Cards:
  SunSWIFT/P - Fast Ethernet Interface
SunTRI/P - Sun Token Ring Interface
PCI SCSI Controller with one channel

*. Software installed on this machine:

Operating System:
 Solaris 2.6 (Sun OS 5.6) (Y2K)
Last patches:
 Cluster Patch 2.6_Recommended (7/IX/2001),
 Recommended (1/XI/99), y2000 (1/XI/99),
 ColdFusion required (105181-17, 105591-07
Software:
 Apache (Y2K) 1.3.9
 ColdFusion (Y2K) 4.5.1 SP2
 Sybase Adaptive Enterprise Server 11.9.2
 Sybperl (Y2K) 2.11

The Sybase DB hosts a PeopleSoft database and it has dedicated 3 CPU's to
run. The ColdFusion has only one dedicated CPU. This setup was left by my
predecessor. The puprose of coldfusion here is to server finacial
management reports which are taken out of the PeopleSoft's DB and presented
on the Intranet. There the problems start, every query is about 15 times
slower if executed via coldfusion, Stored Procedures bring a performance
gain but there is no time/manpower to rewrite all the reports to use SP.
The queries are very well optimized so there must be a slow down on the
ColdFusion side. While running queries the CPU load of the coldfusion CPU
is 100 %.

My thought was to remove the ColdFusion from this server and set it up on a
Windows box (1.5 Ghz or more and 1 or 2 gigs of RAM). Does anybody have any
recomendations or experienced same problems? Or is my approach totally
wrong and it's only a configuration thing.

Please HELP!!! Every idea is very welcome. I am loosing my mind and the
management is freaking me out ...
