  Go to MMC (Microsoft Management Console) select properties for the website
you are configuring, document tab, add a mapping for .htm or .html files.
Be aware IIS will follow the hierarchy you select. So if you want the CFM
file to always be looked for first and the .htm to be for fail-over make
sure CFM is above htm.

Yes but if the .cfm exists and his server is down then its still going to
open the
page and generate that error since it technically exists.. so it has found
the page to display and it displays the page... The thing is CF Service
does not just 'go down' you should be figuring out why it is... If it is
