If you do not need the major change items in CFMX (Components-cfc's, Built-in Authentication) and you simply want to move to a later version, I would go with CF50, there are many good reasons to do that - UDF's, Query of Queries).
However, CFMX-Red Sky has many significant advantages over previous versions but they will only be relevant to you as you build new apps to take advantage of them. That is my opinion. Kind Regards - Mike Brunt Original Message ----------------------- I have CF 4.0.1.0 on NT 4 for Intranet use. There are some features of later versions I (finally) want to use now. (Don't laugh - it has been solid) I have a license for CF MX for CF 5 and media for 4.5, 5, and MX - I got the upgrades but never pulled the trigger. My Questions: 1) Which of 5 or MX is more stable, which should I upgrade to? I'm thinking 5 and then wait for RedSky. 2) Should I upgrade in sequence (4.5, 5, MX) or just make the jump to CF 5 or CF MX? I'm not in a position to start with a fresh server. Thanks for any hints, tricks or gotchas anyone points out. -Nate Nathan Smith McKee, Voorhees & Sease, P.L.C. 515.288.3667 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~| Archives: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/index.cfm?forumid=4 Subscription: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/index.cfm?method=subscribe&forumid=4 FAQ: http://www.thenetprofits.co.uk/coldfusion/faq This list and all House of Fusion resources hosted by CFHosting.com.
