are these two on the same machine (I wasn't sure from your posting. I am
guessing yes)?. Have you tried using the command line MySQL tools to
connect to the database (thus pulling CF/MyODBC out of the question)? That
brings up another question. You said you are running this in a PPro system.
What OS? I believe the Linux version came with MySQL Drivers installed.
We are running CF (4.5.1)+ MySQL + MyODBC on our Sun box (ok, it does seem
to be a faster machine then what you are running, 2 - 400 MHZ CPU's, tons
of ram). The box really does little work. Usually our connection to the DB
is usually 1 (from testing it from another machine). We have been really
happy with the speed of MySQL both on that server, and on a smaller Linux
server.
