Thanks everyone for the help. I'm not sure why my version works only on Mozilla 1.4+ and the demo version works on Mozilla 1.3 (and a JS error occurs on 1.3 on my implementation, which I found a workaround for). But, since people who use Moz 1.3 will most likely have upgraded to 1.4+ and since NS 7.2 is based on 1.4 (and I believe NS 7.1 wouldn't work anyway), I'll go with what I've got, since Moz 1.3 shouldn't be a big part of the site's audience, anyway..
