I have some conference news. Below are more details on "Mach-II Monday". Secondly we have two important guests at the conference - Sean Corfield of Macromedia and Stan Cox of Cox Designs. I think the fact that Macromedia is sending staff to the conference underlines the importance of this release of Fusebox. And I am hoping that Stan will help lighten up the proceedings! Third there will be a Fuseball event and cash bar Saturday night at the conference hotel - so exercise your wrists and sharpen your Fuseball skills to win! Mach-II Monday -------------- On Monday morning, Hal Helms and Ben Edwards will talk about Mach-II, the new framework that leverages that leverages the new features and improvements of version 6.1's CFCs. We'll start by answering some pertinent questions: What is Mach-II? What happened to Fusebox MX? Does Mach-II compete with Fusebox 4? Next, we'll talk about how different architectures try to achieve different goals. Mach-II's primary goal is to create an object oriented framework that will ease the job of software maintenance. We'll see how an "implicit invocation" (the "II" in Mach-II) architecture can aid in building maintainable code that can evolve along with the application's requirements. Fine you say, but you want to see it work? OK, we'll build a small application in Mach-II, make some requirements changes and show how to respond to those with Mach-II. We'll finish with a discussion on OO programming and CFCs. By the end of the session, you should know enough to start experimenting with Mach-II on your own.
