You are absolutely correct. DW was locking up so I re-installed. I hastily
re-setup the site settings and I think I didn't specify a local site or
something. Anyhow it turns out I was making changes to some local pages in
My Settings/Bla/bla that I never intended to set. Phew! Now there's 4 hours
of my life I'll never get back.

I swear DW is getting slower and flakier. I find myself going into Homesite
more and more often.

I've never seen the cf-server cache pages like that (showing the cached page
even after deletion) -- could be browser possibly or the other thing that
always turns out to be the case for me when this happens is that I'm editing
the code in the wrong directory or on the wrong server.
