well!

See you there!

ABOUT THE PRESENTATIONS:
Topic: Integrating ColdFusion with Microsoft Office Applications
Steve Drucker (Fig Leaf Software)

Steve Drucker demonstrates techniques for outputting Microsoft file formats
from ColdFusion. Included in the discussion is a CFML custom tag that
writes information to Microsoft Outlook. Generating Microsoft Word and MS
Excel documents is also covered, as well as using some of the newer features
in Office 2000 allowing ColdFusion to facilitate direct editing of MS
documents on the webserver through HTTP. (Several code samples/CFML custom
tags provided).

About the speaker:

Steve Drucker is the CEO of Fig Leaf Software, an Allaire Premier Partner
Authorized Training Center with offices in Washington DC and Atlanta GA.
Steve was a contributing author to the first two Cold Fusion Web Database
Construction Kit books, is an Allaire certified instructor, and will be
delivering a lecture at the Allaire Developers Conference in November on
topics related to Spectra. His particular area of interest is integrating
ColdFusion with client-side technologies such as JavaScript, DHTML, and
Macromedia Flash.

ABOUT THE PRESENTATIONS:
Critical Ecommerce Techniques Using Database Triggers and Stored Procedures
Adam Churvis (Productivity Enhancement)

You will learn how to build the most critical part of an ecommerce system
that enables merchants to remain profitable in an instable, price-sensitive
world that is constantly under intense market pressures.

Simple pricing systems cannot survive in ecommerce, where profit margins
are squeezed dry and the marketplace instantly expands from the
neighborhood to the entire planet. This, combined with the rapid adoption
of automated B2B bidding and quoting systems, diverse customer purchasing
profiles, and combined wholesale and retail customer bases, forces the
ColdFusion developer to rethink how goods and services and priced for
profitable sale on the Internet.

In this lecture, you will see how a robust, scalable intelligent pricing
system is designed and built using ColdFusion with database triggers,
stored procedures, and optimized ColdFusion code. You will see a perfect
example of when triggers and stored procedures are the only way to deliver
a system that could not be effectively built using ColdFusion alone. You
will learn some of the intricacies of transactional control within triggers
and stored procedures themselves, and how they communicate results back to
ColdFusion for trapping, handling, and program flow control.

I encourage all of you to attend and learn how to ensure the profitability
of your merchants, and to add these important design and programming
techniques to your ColdFusion development skillset.
