Why not simply make CFMAIL not strip out whitespace?

If the solution is to manage whitespace yourself, then why is there a
setting in CFAdministrator for "Whitepace Management"? If the feature is
provided why can't it work correctly, I don't think that's a huge
request.

It's not "management" if you have to code around it.
