Thanks. It's new code (again). I segmented the mail processor into chunks that are sequential based on the previous chunk. First thing is to look for virus subject patterns (see my FA article) of which there are 8 for sobig and 2 for 2 other viruses (as well as scans for certain attachment types). These are just deleted without any additional processing or storage. Next is header format. If a message is missing the following fields or they are blank, it just gets deleted: TO FROM Subject Date That means if you post a message to the list without a subject, it just disappears. No warning, nothing. Next I check against subscribers for the list and then finally against my spam checker. Each step has a failure setting which voids the next step. Only if a message passes all steps will it get processed. In addition, I'm working on a RSS feed for the lists. Main issue is how to keep advertising views and clicks when people are getting RSS. You may have noticed that Macromedia has bought some banner space on HoF and I want it to be seen, clicked and used. If everyone's on RSS, then that goes south. Lots to do, lots to think of, lots to design. God, I need sleep. :)
