The consensus was that more people would search for "ColdFusion" than 
"CFML", hence the former would result in a more successful newsgroup. 
(CFML does of course stand for ColdFusion Markup Language.)  There was 
some debate on which subhierarchy to place it under, and comp.lang.* 
seemed as good as any of the other possible places, IMHO -- see the full 
RFD thread for how this decision came about.  The organisation of Usenet 
newsgroups has never been a precise science.  :o)
