We are having a lot of problems with fields that have NULL values in our
Oracle database and utilizing them in our ColdFusion code. The two main
difficulties are when the fields are date fields, I get errors such as this:
{Error Executing Database Query. [MERANT][SequeLink JDBC Driver][ODBC
Socket][Oracle][ODBC]Invalid datetime format.} if I try to select the date
field. And when trying to do a join, where one of the values is sometimes
null, I receive errors like this {[MERANT][SequeLink JDBC Driver][ODBC
Socket][Oracle][ODBC]Restricted data type attribute violation.}
My first guess is that this has something to do with the JDBC Driver. Can
anybody point me to documentation/information on whether and how one would
update this diver? Are there other possible causes to this problem I should
be investigating?
We have found workarounds when these occurred to date, but it is getting
tedious, and the workarounds are such complicated pieces of codes, whereas
the code is so much simpler if things would work like they should.
