The size issue for rich email is usually not a reciever problem, it's a sender problem. Even if the difference in the size of the email message is only 5KB instead of 2KB, if the list has 1000 subscribers that's about 3MB more per message that needs to get sent out. Okay, that's just one message, but it's not uncommon to see 100+ messages a day on this list. So now there's an overhead of 300MB per day. And while this is the most active list, there are several more lists at HoF.
