GOod lord..reading through this thing, it identifies several problems that
currently exist with writing and deploying ASP applications..
makes me glad that I chose CF over ASP :-)

For those of you that know, however, are these changes attractive enough to
warrant investment in ASP away from the CF platform?

I know one of the biggest hurdles I face when putting forward a Coldfusion
solution, is the client/my boss pointing out that the Client already has
IIS, and using CF will warrant a US$2000 or US$5000 for the Coldfusion
server.

I point out development time and all that, but sometimes that just isn't
enough, and cost wins out in the end.
And the ASP group gets the project dumped on em ;-P

The majority of our clients in the Caribbean region, are running Microsoft
based servers and networks, so that point of not having to purchase an
additional server, is a big stumbling block for any proposal.

If ASP+ is more attractive as a development environment and tool from the
perspective of a developer that uses CF for web application solutions, I'd
be interested..
