Firstly I HATE this HTML cf-talk system, Outlook users CTRL+A/Format/Plain
Text.

John, by default RedSky (MX 6.1) turns on "user friendly" error messages and
not "developer friendly error messages".

Try this in the ColdFusion Administrator under "Debugging Settings"...

Select the "Enable Robust Exception Information" to get the sort of error
information you are probably used to. Ideal in a development environment but
not so good in a production one.

Also in a development environment under the "Caching" menu unselect
(deselect) Save Class Files as this can also cause more grief than is
necessary.

Subject: Major debug issues with MX 6.1

What is it,

the core fundamental need of a developer is debug,
so why is it so crap now in 6.1. I have had a huge headache this week since
we migrated
the dev box over to 6.1 from mx 6.

My time has been totally wasted trying to find errors in my code because MX
is throwing ,
The page cannot be displayed
instead of reporting where the flaming error is.

Its Saturday, I'm workin to get something finished and I'm totally wasting
my time trying to scan
lines of code. I really feel like swearing, but I won't.

Last week it was because a closing CFSCRIPT was </SCRIPT>,

For god sake Macromedia what is this problem you have caused.

Allaire trainers always said, "Allaire loves you", what does Macromedia say?

Not a happy bunny........
