Tony,
my request from the browser is passed to a parsing method in my applicationAPI which returns a struct with 2 values, the first is event which is the name of a function and the second is a list of name value pairs (e.g. userid=foo, password=abc) which get passed into the function.  It's not the most elegant way to set up a controller but I didn't have the luxury of starting from scratch.
