FarCry is several things:
  - a complete solution out of the box; install and it just runs as is
  - a comprehensive framework/toolbox for building applications,
especially if they are content heavy
  - a portal solution, that allows for the easy integration of external
applications and resources

We're a little behind on the marketing documentation now that things
have moved to open source.  Our priorities have shifted to good code,
good developer/user documentation and last cab off the rank is
promotional material -- but we'll get there.

If you don't have time to install you can always play with the DEMO
(http://demo.daemon.com.au/) -- its a little behind the current code
base and has some functionality removed (like security options) for
obvious reasons.  To see the administration in action try:
http://demo.daemon.com.au/farcry/  usr: admin, pwd: admin.

Best place to get an honest feel for FarCry is the developer lists --
there are lots of different implementations now in many verticals.
Folks there are happy to help with installation, and make
recommendations on whether or not FarCry is an appropriate fit for your
project.

FarCry Developers hang out here:

Hope that helps,
