Subject: The Datasource service is not available error
Hello All,
I'm running Coldfusion MX 6.1 on a Redhat Enterprise system and have had the
same issue pop up 2 times now. It seems to only happen after a reboot and
once the system comes back up, I get the "datasource service is not
available" error on any page that calls a datasource. I found what I thought
were some fixes on different websites, but nothing worked. I tried tweaking
the neo-query.xml file, clearing out the neo-query.xml file, restoring the
file to it's backup, etc. For the 2nd time I had to uninstall/reinstall
coldfusion and then add all of my datasources, mappings and settings again.
It doesn't appear that Macromedia has a solution to this, at least none that
I could find. I submitted a support ticket to them but they said that "A
completed installation is determined by successful first run of the
Macromedia application" and that I should look into fee-based service. UH!
After spending almost a grand on the software that is not an option for me.
Anyone have any other suggestions? I'm afraid of rebooting my machine
because I fear this issue will pop up again.
Thanks for any help,
Craig
