You can certainly use CAR files to migrate settings and applications from
one server to another. You may run into some issues if the servers aren't
running the same version of CF, but in general you shouldn't have any
trouble, and I work with deployments that do this all the time - server
clusters, for example, in which all servers share the same general
configuration.
