Oh my...CFTREE and CFGRID in the same app...yikes!!

These are 2 of the worst ever CF tags and now you are unfortunately finding that out the hard way ;-)

There are custom tags out there that will probably handle these tasks, but I don't know any off the top of my head (I just write custom code when needed).

I'd also scour the MM known issues pages to see if you can find any reason for those tags to stop working on the setup this laptop in question has (other than the fact the sky is blue and the clouds happen to be white and fluffy that day....hehe).

A side note...my first ever CF tag used was CFTREE (version 3.1 in Jan 1998).  I was summarily roasted on the spot by the lead developer (and then member of Team Allaire) for using such a horrible buggy tag!!  guess what....I never used it again and have been a happy camper ;-)

Cheers

Subject: CFTREE does not work on some machines

  Hi,

I have been successfully using CFTREE in a web application (CF 4.5.2
Windows 2000 SP3) since 2000. One of our execs recently purchased a new
laptop (Windows XP IE 6) and now CFTREE no longer works on his machine.
It worked on his old machine with no problems and continues to work for
  every other exec's laptop.

What do I need to make CFGRID work on the new laptop? If there is a
particular Java VM that needs to be installed and enabled, where do I
get it, how do I install it manually (since IE 6 is not prompting to
install it) and/or how do I enable it if it has been installed and/or
  disabled in IE 6?

Thanks in advance for your help,

  Debbie M.
