WHAT
We are requesting papers for presentations at our annual Spring <BR>
Conference. Topics can cover Designing, Development or Infrastructure.
Special notice will be given to those presentations that demonstrate
using any of the Macromedia Suite of Design and Development tools
(Macromedia's Studio MX or Studio MX 2004).
Ben Forta will grace us as the main speaker at the General Session again
this year. We anticipate an attendance for the day in excess of 300 people.
The event will take place on the campus of Ohio University in beautiful,
historic Athens, Ohio, in the brand new (yet to be named) Lecture Hall
Facility. Audio and Video capabilities are state of the art, and the whole
building is networked both Ethernet and wireless. Parking is abundant and
convenient, as are the local restaurants and hotels.
The three main tracks, as mentioned are Design, Development and
Infrastructure.
Design
This track is geared toward the "look and feel" of an application.
Whether that application is on the web or a program installed, or run,
from a CD-ROM. This would go into some level of detail in the design
process, i.e. Table-less Design Using CSS in Dreamweaver.
Develop
This track covers the process of development, from inception through
initial layout, and coding. This can include things such as Database
Structuring for Dynamic E-Commerce. This is the 'nuts and bolts' of
creating an application.
Infrastructure
This track focuses on the underlying framework, servers, web services,
etc. that the applications are built upon. This track can cover anything
from Database Optimization, Open Source, Wireless Security, and more.
We are specifically looking for "How-To" types of presentations, not
sales pitches. The target audiences of this conference is developers
and designers. These are the people who 'get their hands dirty' with
the tools on a regular basis.
Please include a designation of your presentation of the expected level
of experience with the processes being demonstrated. For example,
Fundamental (or Foundational, covering the basics), General (having a
little more knowledge) or Experienced for the advanced topics.
Vendors are also welcome to participate. Contact us for vendor costs and
requirements. Costs may be waived if you apply for and are accepted as a
presenter. Your presentation, however, may not be a sales pitch and must be
in accordance with the presentations outlined above.
If you have any questions or concerns regarding your topic, please
contact Dave Hannum at [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Thank you,
Conference Team
