Think of bar code reading as just a simple, easy way to enter an
identification number.  All the reader does is read the code and input it into
the keyboard buffer, saving the typing.

Subject: Integrating bar code readers with web apps

We have a print production workflow written in CF. A job travels through
stages - printing, binding, shipping, etc. How feasable is it to be able to
scan a job ticket at each stage so that the job status is updated with
status code and timestamp? We have a bar coding system consisting of a
Symbol corded and cordless readers and WASP inventory managment software.

  Thanks!
