To do this, the CF server must run as a user which has permissions to that
drive. By default, CF runs as SYSTEM on Windows. If you wish to use a drive
letter for access, this user will also need to have that mapping done from
within its own account.

However, as Paul mentioned, you may run into some unrelated issues. This
will be relatively slow, compared to Verity indexing in general - which is
pretty slow already. That might not be such a big deal to you, but in
addition, for this to be useful, you'll have to be able to get the files to
the user one way or another, assuming that they turn up in a search
resultset. So, you'll either need to make them web-accessible, or you'll
have to fetch them at runtime with CF. There are potential issues with
either approach.
