Creating .txt files

This is probably very simple, but it is not coming to me. I need to put line breaks in a text string and write that string to a file.

Example:

<cfset mymessage = "this is the first line of my message." need to insert line break here "this is the second half of my message." another line break "and this is the last part of my message.">
