Kevin,
I implemented this exact type of feature. I had customers register to find
out when a new home came on the market that matched their search. I ran the
program 2 times a week to see if anything matched what they wanted. I got
around doing them all at once by running the program 4 times a day. I would
do a quarter of the DB each time. By breaking it up it didn't put as much
load on the server all at once.
