Subject: sql new user woes
Hi all:
Up until now I have only used Access as a backend for all of our apps. I
have recently installed SQL 2000 on my computer and am trying to get a
simple query running, but I keep getting the error:
[Macromedia][SQLServer JDBC Driver][SQLServer]SELECT permission denied on
object 'test_data_table', database 'RayTestDB', owner 'dbo'.
<cfquery name="testq" datasource="RCTestTable" dbtype="ODBC">
SELECT *
FROM test_data_table
</cfquery>
I have messed around with all the permissions that I could find, but I
still get the same error. I know that I have registered the database
correctly in CFAdmin. I am at a loss as to why this is happening...this is
my first go at this, so I could be 180 degrees off and not know it. And
this stupid 'dummies' book is about as worthless as...well, I will leave
that up to your imagination.
Does this throw up any big flags for anyone? Sure could use a boost after
sitting here for the better part of my morning!
Ray
