I set up a small site in their servers -- oh about 3 1/2 years ago:

I did the back end -- converted an ASP site to CF.
There are actually about 5 difference sites, but the PearlOfTheDay site
has a scheduled task that sends out a daily email to hundreds (may be
thousands, now) of free subscribers.
Rock solid, I haven't missed an email in 2 + years -- comes regularly,
every morning at 4:00:37 AM PST

You can sign up and see for yourself.
All the POTDs are stored in a SQL-Server db so you can visit the site
and browse through past and future POTDs.
My favorite is the one on 08/23/00. Also, the one for 01/29/02 -- My
late wife Lucy's BDay.
