Depending on the size of your DB, 2Gb doesn't seem to be very large. I don't
think that log size has much to do with performance unless it starts to eat
other system resources. Log files should be on RAID 1 due to redundancy and
fast read performance (needed when backing logs up).

You can clean up your logs by performing transaction log backup (with remove
log entries option). Then you can shrink your DB (not recommended).

Subject: OT: SQL Server SLOW

Hey guys my transaction log is almost at 2 gigs.  Will deleting this log
make SQL Server go faster?  And if so, how do I go about deleting it safely
and starting a new one?
