Now that it is working - enable shadow copy and back up the system state so that
you can restore it if it happens again - also periodically run the utility
regclean.exe (available from Microsoft)

  Try stopping and restarting the ColdFusion Application service.  Sometimes
  CF5 wouldn't pick up custom tags in the default custom tag directory.
