Nine times out of 10 it was a case that I was trying to return a variable
that was not even set to null.
Not sure it this applies to you but it did to me when I got the null
returned in CF for a number of days, I tracked it down to an exception that
was not being caught and returning a variable that had not been setup
properly:-)
