I would like to change the CFMX service from running under the local system
account to running under a user account. I think it would make more sense
to run the service under a domain account than a local account, but I would
like to know if anyone sees any advantage to running under a local account?
With a domain account, I could easily grant permission for that domain
account to access files on other servers, whereas with a local account, I
am not sure I could accomplish this.
Does the technote at
<http://www.macromedia.com/support/coldfusion/ts/documents/tn17279.htm>
adequately describe what permissions need to be set for CFMX, or is there a
better set of instructions for CFMX?
Is there any advantage to running the two ODBC services under a non-System
account?
Are there any pitfalls I need to watch out for when I make this change?
Thank you,
Mike Chabot
