I googled:

AcuCoBOL ODBC JDBC

and got quite a few hits.

You might be able to connect directly with a JDBC driver and avoid the
tunneling & bridging.

I was a real proponent of CoBOL for maimframes (circa 1968) when I
worked for IBM.

I would have thought that most companies old CoBOL programs would have
been rewritten in some other language by now.

Mmmm.... I wonder what language you would to rewrite CoBOL programs --
Java, C, JSP, VBS.... CFML?
