knowledge of CF (and Jrun) do not know the answers to these
questions. I'm only being critical of Macromedia here, mind you...
I think it's shameful they don't do a more competent job at what they
do.
Months ago I was wanting to purchase CF Enterprise (because it comes
with Jrun) to run an app that requires both. I asked all these same
questions of everyone I could think of (including numerous people at
MACR). I could not get any consistent answers then, and it's clear
there are no consistent answers now...
I took the plunge and made the purchase, and it has worked for my
purposes-- however not without much pain. Much of the process right
from the install has been difficult. And even getting help with the
install from MACR was tough.
Each time we want to do something with our configuration, it seems to
be impossible to find detailed documentation about it, and to make it
work properly-- most notably getting some servlets to be called over
port 80. All the documentation available about using wsconfig is
seriously lacking in detail, IMO. Thanks to Dave Watt for some key
suggestions, and a week's worth of work, we finally did it. Sheesh--
what a hassle
Just the .02 of a paying customer (once at least...),
