Infesting...perhaps "online" publishing is finally starting to come of age
for mainstream publishers...about time, too...

  Ya know

I used to got to Borders or B&N every month or so -- and spend several
hours paging thru tech books of interest, until I found ones that "fit"
my current needs and expertise on the topic du jour!

  I usually would buy 1-3 books & spend anywhere from $50-$100 -- didn't
mind paying a little more because I was supporting the Stick & Stucco
Bookstores that were providing me a service -- the ability to screen
books & buy only the ones I needed!

But, I don't buy books much anymore -- used to spend about $250-$500+
  per year,

Instead I can travel (via the magic of the Internet) to a place where I
can get the same service I used to get from B&N or borders -- but I
don't need to buy the books.

I can read them online, even better, I can search them on line, yes
  search multiple books online.

The service I am talking about is O'Reilly's Safari:

      http://safari.oreilly.com/

Go see for yourself -- there is a 14-day free trial

I signed up to resolve a specific problem & just can't get around to
  cancelling.

My subscription cost $20 per month -- much less than I used to spend on
  books.

They have a lot of titles from a lot of publishers.

  HTH
