Last I heard there are severe high-speed connection problems in the US
because of the Bell Atlantic strike. Apparently Bell Atlantic people have
been doing work for other phone companies and the people who fix high-speed
connection stuff are on strike. I'm just glad that our network has decided
to work today. We've had serious down time in the last week and we're not
even in a Bell Atlantic area. But our phone company gets their high speed
stuff fixed by Bell Atlantic people.
At least that's what our ISP has been claiming and people on other ISPs
have been complaining of down time also. A friend's ISP has been having
downtime, for what that's worth.
