I can provide some insight, as my company was the one selling this tool.

ActivScan is not a CFX tag.

ActivScan is mostly client side, it was a ActiveX control (MSIE only),
and we wrote a coldfusion custom tag as a simple way of invoking the
client side ActiveX control.

The reason we have stopped selling it for now is that we can't justify
spending the resources to fix it, as it never brought in a lot of
revenue for us. The reasons for discontinuing it were mostly business
related not completely technical. We are selling the source code to the
active x control because several people had asked us to once we
discontinued it.
