I am sorry to post this OFF Topic post on this list, but I have not had any
responses on other related forums. And since I have always had a great
experience with CF-Talk, I thought maybe one of you might point us in the
right direction.

We are writing an application using Visual Basic 6 that connects to a remote
SQL Server 2000 database, and have not been able to find documentation how
to securely connect to a remote database. The concern is not so much the
data, but exposing the data source login information, namely, the server IP,
data source name, user name, & password. We are able to connect to the data
source on our test server with no problems, but due to the nature of the
data, we need something equivalent to SSL before we attempt to test on the
open Internet.

Any help would be GREATLY Appreciated!!!

Thank you,
