wasn't happy with the idea of anything "hanging out" waiting for a
scheduled task to clean it up... which is why I went the dhtml route,
which worked pretty well for me. Plus I was storing the session info
in the application scope and using that to run a "chat room", so I
wanted to know when a user terminated the browser anyway, and I wanted
to know immediately rather than relying on an arbitrary timeout
duration.
