I'm not sure how well it works for access, but I'd google for
"coldfusion datasource serviceFactory" - there are ways to create
datasources on the fly in CFMX.

Subject: DSN-Less Datasources in ColdFusion MX
To: CF-Talk <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
The following code does not work for me. Can anyone tell me why?
I'm using DB_EMPTY as a pass through Database and I would like to add
a table to a database that does not have a DSN set up. Apparently
CFMX does not support DSN-less connection and MM suggested a using a
pass through. Basically you set up an empty DSN and use code like so
to reach a database that does not have a DSN.
<cfquery datasource="DB_EMPTY" name="crud">
SELECT First_Name
FROM Customer
IN 'c:\inetpub\wwwroot\_DB\LIVE_VERSIONS\ARMOR.mbd'
</cfquery>
The above works ok but I'm running into problems when I attempt to
create a table or alter a table. For example the following code
fails.
<cfquery datasource="DB_EMPTY" name="crud">
CREATE TABLE customer
(First_Name char(4))
IN 'c:\inetpub\wwwroot\_DB\LIVE_VERSIONS\ARMOR.mbd'
</cfquery>
can someone help?________________________________
