Removing extensions from filelists

I'm currently attempting to incorporate the generation of automatic filelists (using cfdirectory), depending on the fuseaction a user selects. One thing I'm wondering (not much luck in google) is if there is a way to remove the file extensions from the generated output.
I.E. spybot13.exe becomes spybot13

I'd also like to remove underscores from filenames and replace those with a space.
